Houston is one of the most interesting cities in the country — the most diverse city in America, a hub for space, energy, art, and food — and almost none of it ends up on local TV. What does get airtime is national content dressed in local branding.
LocalStream started as a side project to fix that. The idea is simple: a 24/7 free streaming channel that actually reflects Houston — local musicians, local filmmakers, local stories.
It's built and run by one person. No investors, no corporate backing. Just a stream server, a lot of coffee, and a genuine belief that local communities deserve their own media.
We're still early. The first creators are applying and the library is being built. But the channel is live, and it's going to keep growing — one Houston story at a time.
